Welcome To Wield Cricket Club
After a meeting in The Yew Tree on 27th August 1979 Wield Cricket Club was born.
Situated in the most picturesque village in Hampshire, with the most beautiful ground around, boasting world famous cricket teas and opposite the best country pub in the world, we are the epitome of English village cricket. We only play on Sundays, have a thriving junior section and most importantly we play and socialise in the time honoured traditions of village cricket. We are an integral part of the village community and are ideally situated between Lower and Upper Wield in what is jokingly referred to as Middle Wield.
Wield Cricket Club are always looking for new players, so if you want to play village cricket on a Sunday and are prepared to have fun please get in touch.

PEOPLE: WIELD CRICKET NEEDS YOU!
On Diamond Jubilee Monday 4 June Wield CC is planning an Oldsters vs Youngsters Cricket Game, but to do this we need you to play - you, your son/daughter/wife/husband/partner -with or without extreme facial hair. A minimum of 22 players, a maximum of who knows how many (we can mix it up a bit), the afternoon will get underway from about 2.00pm onwards and will run till we have had enough. There will be a BBQ and the Yew Tree will be open, so please let me know if you and your family would like to play.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,

PS And lest we forget: The first, and only, Olympic medals for cricket were won at the Paris Games of 1900 when England beat France by 158 runs in a two-day final in the Vincennes velodrome.
Cricket is no longer an Olympic sport.
