Seniors
From a pool of vast talent the Wield senior side is chosen by our skipper Andrew Yorke. It is an extensive selection policy which seems to be more geographical than talent based. Come rain or shine (usually rain) we play every Sunday from the first week in May to the end of September.
The teas at Wield are legendary as is the Yew Tree across the road and in true village cricket style we adjorn there at the end of another hard fought win/loss/bore draw.
We have an AGM before the start of the season and an end of season players evening where several awards are presented and usually not gracefully received.
We believe that the cricket team is an integral part of our village and it is great to see so many non-playing members of the village watching/drinking/gossiping/barracking or just enjoying a great family environment.
